All Abilities Park Playground Project

Thunder Junction All Abilities Park in St. George is a dream come true for children of all abilities. This inclusive 2.5-acre playground has been thoughtfully designed to allow children to play side-by-side, regardless of their physical or sensory needs, creating a truly welcoming and accessible environment for all.

Notts Sport was proud to support the City of St. George in delivering this outstanding $5 million project, with funding generously raised by the local community. The park reflects a shared commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the social, physical and emotional benefits of play.

Traditional playgrounds can often present barriers for children with disabilities. Thunder Junction has been designed to remove those barriers, offering a fully inclusive space where children of all abilities can interact, explore and enjoy play together in a safe and supportive environment.

This unique dinosaur-themed park features a wide range of wheelchair-accessible, sensory-rich equipment, including double-width slides, accessible ramps, soft impact-absorbing surfaces and interactive play features. The design encourages imaginative play while supporting physical activity and social interaction.

Local families have praised the park for its creativity and inclusivity: “We were so impressed with Thunder Junction and all the unique and fun features, from the rides to the large family gathering areas. There are the typical slides and swings, dinosaurs to climb on, and even a kid’s zip line. The cushioned surfaces are especially reassuring in areas where children may fall.”

Our patented SurfacePlay systems provide the flexibility to create bespoke, inclusive designs that maximise both safety and play value in every playground project.

“The All Abilities Park is life changing for our family. Everything about the park is accommodating so that everyone can play together.”
